Acting/Scene Study: Ages 11 + up

  • Developing truthful acting and character development
  • Improv skills, listening to what’s in the scene, listening to other actors
  • Interpretation and translation of the dramatic script
  • Acting for the camera, acting for stage, script analysis, study of monologue and scene material, cold readings, and confidence building
  • In Studio 10-15 min Demo in December
  • End-of-Year session culminates in a recital showcase of skits, exercises and scenes in May


 

 

ACTOR'S WORKSHOPS & IMPROV CLASSES

Acting & Improv: Ages 11 + up

  • Confidence-building and quick thinking
  • Games/ exercises to encourage  communication, agreement and listening to what's in the scene
  • Focus on creativity, verbal and non-verbal communication
  • Retraining the brain to be open to ideas & be flexible to change
  • Supports confidence-building and public speaking skills
  • In Studio 10-15 Demo in December
  • End-of-Year showcase of skits, exercises and scenes in May

Story Book Theater Acting I: 6-10 yrs

  • Confidence building and activating the creative mind
  • Developing truthful acting and character development
  • Learn how to LAL: Laugh, Agree, and Listen
  • Scene work based off of fairy tales are given a modern spin
  • Students learn to use simple "scenery" like chairs and boxes arranged to suggest various settings, and simple props like scarves or cardboard tubes engage the imagination
  • A perfect way for kids to engage in more creative play and less gadgetry
  • ​In Studio 10-15 Demo in December
  • End-of-Year showcase of skits, exercises and scenes in May

Broadway On-Act Play Series: Ages 11 + up

  • Includes both previously published plays and student written pieces
  • Focus on creating, performing, responding and connecting to drama
  • Discover comedic and dramatic script
  • Roles are cast first two weeks of class
  • All who enroll are cast
  • One in- studio 15 min short play in December
  • End-of-Year session culminates in a One-Act full length play in May
