Michelle Akeley

Michelle is originally from Hermosa Beach, and grew up dancing with Julia. She has a degree from UCLA Theater, Film and Television from the Ray Bolger Musical Theater program. While in college her childhood dance teacher/mentor opened up POPS and she started assisting for the first POPS production The Wiz. After graduating in 2010 she started to produce, direct, choreograph, music direct - whatever was most helpful at the time for the POPS programming. In 2017 Michelle started to work in the film industry and is now a DGA Assistant Director for TV/Film. When not working in film production she loves to come back to her roots at POPS. She loves the impact that the company has for the youth in the area.
